On soccer teams there are usually positions. Positions include a goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder, and lastly, a forward. The goalkeeper defends the goal. The defenders try to keep the other team from getting to the goal. The midfielders help out on defense and offense. They help the forward when the ball is on the upper half of the field and will fall back down to help the defense when they are in trouble. Finally, the striker is always on offense and usually scores all of the goals. Those are the main positions in soccer.
